Hakodate Dining Gaya

Nice quality of food, with multiple language menus! Good for all sorts of travellers wanting a nice and decent meal with a reasonable price.

I visited in November 2019.Seafood and other things unique to Hakodate were also prepared. What is offered is delicious, but I think how the clerk responds. Despite spilling hot soup on clothes and trousers just before asking for seafood scallops and putting it on the table, there is no apology. Ask for what you want to wipe, and finally you will only get a few paper towels that wipe your hands. I'm sorry that even if we offer good things, we will not be willing to go again. You can eat fresh seafood even at the hotel breakfast, so from now on you will enjoy Hakodate seafood at the hotel breakfast.

Good place for dining hotpot seafood.

Fairly pricy considering the food options close by but we came in as it was late. Food was tasty and I loved my creamy uni and crab hotpot. Yum!

Seafood Very average considering it is in the heart of morning seafood market, tuna sashimi is definitely not fresh. It is defrost meat. Service is non existence , have to ask to get service

Very usual Japanese isakaya ( bar ) restaurant,sea food is good ( fresh ) . Lots of crabs in the menu but very costly .

You can find many different crabs and shells outside this restaurant, which assure diners that the seafood on their table must be fresh! I ordered the donburi with four different seafood, including salmon roe, king crab, scallops, and urchin on top of delicious warm rice. They also provide all you can eat for three major crabs, including king crab, snow crab, and of course horse hair crabs as showed in the menu.

If you love crab then you will love this restaurant. Although a little on the expensive side they have quite a variety of crab, sushi and grilled fish. Really cozy and quiet and fast service. They also have an English menu which will help.

I ate here twice, I thought the food was really good, especially the crab. Sushi very fresh too. Service a little slow at times, but friendly. English menu.

An izakaya restaurant with wide variety of japanese food to choose from. With fairly delicious food, I can opt to make a 2nd & maybe a 3rd time to try different menus. Prices are relatively affordable & the location is very easy to access. Their sashimi & donburi are worth trying for.

Initially rated them a 2-star but they are now a 1-star after I reached Sapporo city centre and realised what a rip off Gaya had been. Food sad by Japan standard. Not cheap for what they served. The crab meat bento I get in the city supermarkets have a lot more serious crab meat versus the booger-sized half frozen portion I got for the same price at Gaya. Total scam job. The only reason why it is still in biz is probably cos it is near the JR Station and it's long operation hours as many other shops in the vicinity are closed after lunch.

I didn't enjoy the food here to be honest, It felt very rushed and ill prepared. Tried their crab, wasn't all that spectacular was quite dissapointed to be honest.

Brilliant place to eat seafood in Hakodate. This Izakaya style restaurant is conveniently located about 100m from the JR statio, opposite the fish market. Hence the freshness of the sashimi n other seafood like crabs. The menu variety is extensive and you'll be spoiled for choice. There's the traditional seafood hotpot to all sort of crabby dishes to grilled waygu beef and yakitori. Prices are above average but the freshness and quality should easily justify it.

When I came to Hakodate, seafood bowls were always a standard routine in the Hakodate morning market, but after hearing the reputation of being cheap and delicious, I visited for the first time.Order sushi set for lunch menu. Delicious and volumy according to reputation!Price was conscientious and good. It will be a standard course if you come to Hakodate from next time ^ _ ^

Evening is good ☺️ I can't come because my son is still a student 😅If you still want to eat lunch, this is the second time for you to be told by your son 😋, but this price is full of volume and this price is kind to your wallet 😁 Anyway, sashimi etc are fresh and good 😋 Rice replacement 🆗 All you can eat tarako tube 😲 I think that it is also nice for big food 😁👍For those who come by car, there is a free parking lot 🅿️ next to a wallet that is kind to your wallet 😊 It's a nice, friendly and delicious shop 😊

There's a crew member here who can speak English relatively well. They also have menu of different languages (English and Chinese), and their seafood is very fresh at relatively reasonable prices. Prices shown on menu are before tax though.

Great food but pricey

Quite interesting to try the hairy crab in the hot pot here. This place is located close to the train station which is very convenient to stop by. Large alive seafood are showed in front of the shop to show how fresh they are. Menu only provide in Japanese as well as their price. You might want to ask for the price before ordering. I tried hairy crab in the pot which called in Japanese Keganinabe. It costs 6,600 yen which you can finish with 2 people. The dish taste fresh and sweet from its meat. Recommended. It also offers sushi and teppanyaki menu.It’s closed late at night and take credit card.

The pictures in the menu look bigger and the real ones are really tiny. We ordered Genghis Khan Lamb BBQ and it arrived already cooked and was mostly cabbage. Although the quality is good, it's really not online with the price you pay. We really don't recommend it.

It's terrible service. we would never come again

Staffs are nice. Provided English menu.But the quality of food wasn’t good. The meat and the hotpot were too salty and the sashimi still have spaces to improve.The restaurant was so stuffy, it was lack of air and hard to breathe. We sat in the non smoke area but it still smells really bad.

We used at lunch time and dinner time.It was just before the morning, so I thought it was a tourist price, but the cost performance was good and the satisfaction was high.At lunchtime, there are many customers who are considered local. Unlimited use of original tarako tube.All photos are for lunch. Dinner was crazy to eat and forgot to shoot.
